Maple Pecan Muffins

Ingredients
- 2 cups whole wheat flour (i use king arthur's brand)
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup real maple syrup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup pecans, chopped
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon sugar
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- 2 mix dry ingredients (except pecans) in large mixing bowl.
- 3 beat together egg, maple syrup, milk, butter and vanilla.
- 4 stir into dry mixture just until moistened. stir in pecans.
- 5 spoon batter into greased muffin pans.
- 6 sprinkle cinnamon sugar lightly on top of muffins before baking.
- 7 bake 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- 8 makes 12 muffins.
