Gooseberry Chutney

Total Time: 42 mins Preparation Time: 2 mins Cook Time: 40 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 (15 ounce) can gooseberries (in light syrup)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tablespoon cider vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons cider vinegar (yes, again)
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pinch allspice
  • 1 pinch ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch ground cloves

Recipe

  • 1 in a small saucepan, combine berries, sugar, vinegar & salt.
  • 2 simmer 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • 3 add alspice, cinnamon & cloves & simmer an additional 10 minutes.
  • 4 cool & refrigerate.
