Tomato Catsup

Ingredients
- 1 gallon tomato juice
- 1 pint vinegar
- 2 tablespoons salt
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon red pepper
- 1 teaspoon ground mustard
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 5 cloves
- 5 whole allspice
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
Recipe
- 1 take 1/2 bushel tomatoes cut up in small pieces.
- 2 cook strain
- 3 and to each gallon juice add 1 pint vinegar.
- 4 2 tablespoons salt.
- 5 1 small cup sugar.
- 6 1 level teasppon red pepper
- 7 1 heaping teaspoon ground mustard
- 8 cinnamon cloves and allspice
- 9 tie spices in cloth
- 10 remove when done
- 11 cooking 2 hours
- 12 then add 1/2 cup cornstarch(this is where i think the recipe gets hinky , i think its 2 much cornstarch for each gallon
- 13 and then cook 15 minutes more
- 14 bottle and seal.
