Porridge (oatmeal)

Total Time: 15 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 cup old fashioned oats
  • 2 1/2 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 bananas, sliced
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1 pinch ground cinnamon
  • 4 teaspoons butter
  • 1/2 cup cold milk (or more if desired)

Recipe

  • 1 in a saucepan, combine the oats, water, salt, sugar, and cinnamon.
  • 2 bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, and simmer until the liquid has been absorbed, stirring frequently.
  • 3 pour into bowls, and top each with a pat of butter, bananas, raisins, and a splash of cold milk.
