Top Chef Strawberry Crisp With Whipped Cream

Ingredients

  • 6 1/2 pints strawberries, hulled and quartered
  • 1 lemon, juice of
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 vanilla bean, cut in half lengthwise and seeds scraped out
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 6 cups flour
  • 2 3/4 cups packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ginger
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 2 1/8 cups butter
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 vanilla bean, cut in half lengthwise and seeds scraped out
