Poached Pears.....from The Wine Country Inn

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1 cup water
  • 8 pears
  • apple juice
  • 1/4 cup grenadine
  • 1 dash cinnamon

Recipe

  • 1 combine the lemon juice and water.
  • 2 quarter, core and peel the pears, dipping them in lemon juice mixture as you go, to prevent browning.
  • 3 place them in a crockpot and cover with apple juice.
  • 4 add the grenadine and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
  • 5 cook on the low setting for about 1 1/2 hours, or until tender.
