Mulled Cider

Total Time: 35 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 1 quart cranberry juice
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 orange peel
  • 1 lemon peel
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 6 whole cloves
  • 6 allspice berries
  • 1 quart apple cider
  • lemon slice, studded with
  • whole cloves

Recipe

  • 1 in a large non-aluminum saucepan, combine cranberry juice, sugar, peels and spices. bring to boil, lower heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
  • 2 strain and return liquid to saucepan. stir in cider and reheat but do not boil.
  • 3 ladle in heatproof cups and serve topped with lemon slices.
