- 1 quart cranberry juice
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1 orange peel
- 1 lemon peel
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 6 whole cloves
- 6 allspice berries
- 1 quart apple cider
- lemon slice, studded with
- whole cloves
Recipe
- 1 in a large non-aluminum saucepan, combine cranberry juice, sugar, peels and spices. bring to boil, lower heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
- 2 strain and return liquid to saucepan. stir in cider and reheat but do not boil.
- 3 ladle in heatproof cups and serve topped with lemon slices.
