Karen's Cinnamon Rolls

Total Time: 2 hrs 30 mins Preparation Time: 2 hrs Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 12
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 (3/4 ounce) package yeast
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 7 cups flour
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • brown sugar
  • cinnamon
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 5 tablespoons butter
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 2 cups powdered sugar

Recipe

  • 1 fill glass measuring cup with water. add yeast, oil and 2-3 tablespoons of sugar.
  • 2 stir together in large mixing bowl flour, salt and remaining sugar.
  • 3 beat eggs.
  • 4 add both yeast mixture and eggs to flour and salt.
  • 5 stir to combine and knead until soft dough forms.
  • 6 let rise, approximatey 45-60 minutes.
  • 7 can be placed in the refrigerator overnight.
  • 8 for filling, melt butter. mix together brown sugar and cinnamon. roll out dough and brush with butter. sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon mixture.
  • 9 role tightly. using un-flavored dental floss or a serrated knife, slice into 1 to 1 1/2-inch rolls. place cut side up in 9 1/2 x 13-inch pan. let rise until doubled in size.
  • 10 bake at 350 for approximately 30 minutes or until browned.
  • 11 for frosting, mix beat together cream cheese, butter, vanilla and powdered sugar until smooth. frost cool cinnamon rolls.
