Molasses Doughnuts

Ingredients
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 3 tablespoons soft butter
- 3/4 cup milk
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Recipe
- 1 cream sugar and butter together. add milk, eggs and molasses. mix well. mix ands sift remaining ingredients. add to liquid mixture and mix thoroughly. refrigerate for 1 1/2 hours.
- 2 turn out on a lightly floured board and roll to 1/2 inch thickness - cut with doughnut cutter.
- 3 fry in deep hot fat, 375f, until golden brown. sprinkle with sugar.
