Sour Cream Coffee Cake

Ingredients

- 1/4 lb butter or 1/4 lb margarine
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cups cake flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon table salt
- 1 cup sour cream
- 5 tablespoons cake flour
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup chopped almonds or 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 350°f butter a 13x9x2" baking pan.
- 2 cream butter and sugar with electric mixer. add eggs and vanilla.
- 3 sift together cake flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. alternately add dry ingredients and sour cream to creamed butter, starting and ending with dry.
- 4 sift cake flour, brown sugar and cinnamon together; stir in nuts.
- 5 pour half the batter into prepared pan. sprinkle half the filling evenly over surface of batter. pour remaining batter evenly over filling, then sprinkle remaining filling evenly over the top.
- 6 bake in preheated oven 45 minutes.
