New England Yams

Total Time: 35 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 25 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1 (20 ounce) can pineapple slices
  • 1 (17 ounce) can yams, drained
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup nuts, chopped
  • 1 cup miniature marshmallow

Recipe

  • 1 drain pineapple slices, reserving 1/2 c liquid.
  • 2 line sides of baking dish with pineapple and put yams in the center.
  • 3 combine flour, brown sugar, cinnamon and salt; cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. stir in nuts.
  • 4 pour reserved pineapple liquid over yams. sprinkle with flour mixture. bake at 350°f for 25 minutes. top with marshmallows and then broil until lightly brown.
