Hot Fruit Compote

Total Time: 35 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 25 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 1 (20 ounce) can pineapple chunks in juice, drained
  • 1 (16 ounce) can pears, slices drained
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 (16 ounce) can peach slices, drained
  • 1 (11 ounce) can mandarin oranges, drained
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1/8 teaspoon clove
  • 1 (8 ounce) can dark cherries, drained

Recipe

  • 1 heat the oven to 375.
  • 2 arrange all fruit, except the cherries in a 13 x 9 inch baking dish or 1 1/2 quart casserole.
  • 3 in a small saucepan, over medumh eat, combine all remaining ingredients except cherries. heat and stir until brown sugar is dissolved and the butter is melted.
  • 4 pour over fruit.
  • 5 add cherries.
  • 6 bake for 25 minutes or until fruit is thoroughly heated.
  • 7 serve warm.
