Sugar-and-spice Nuts

Total Time: 35 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 25 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup cashews, unsalted
  • 1/2 cup pecan halves, unsalted
  • 1/2 cup almonds, unsalted
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 325f degrees.
  • 2 grease a baking sheet and set aside.
  • 3 beat egg in a large bowl with a fork or whisk until foamy.
  • 4 stir in two cups of unsalted nuts until coated (amounts listed are my favourites, but any combination can be used, as can other nuts such as peanuts or walnuts).
  • 5 stir in sugar and spices; toss with nuts until coated.
  • 6 put nuts onto prepared baking sheet.
  • 7 spread out well.
  • 8 bake, stirring often, until golden-- about 20-25 minutes .
  • 9 cool completely.
  • 10 store in an airtight container.
